One of the best things that I love about the Tailgating Lifestyle is getting together with friends and playing tailgating games. One of the fastest growing tailgating games is washers. In its simplest form the Willy Washer is a telescoping magnetic pole that keeps you from having to bend over to pick your washers. Do you really need a device that keeps you from having to perform the simple task of bending over? If you are like myself and a lot of my friends that I tailgate with after a couple of hours of tailgating you need all the help you can get from having to bend over with a drink in your hand to pick up metal washers. So like many of our reviews we have to ask some basic questions about the Willy. Is the Willy easy to use? Is it portable? and would we actually use the Willy?
When we received our Willy it was ready to go out of the box. All we had to do was extend the telescoping pole and we were ready to start playing. The magnetic end of the Willy is extremely stong and can easily pick up standard washers that came with your washer set. The Willy also has a hook on the back that makes it easy to attach it to a pocket, belt or belt loop between throws. The Willy can be purchased in several themes: Athletic Willy, Chillin Willy, Patriotic Willy, Racing Willy, Surfer Willy and Just Plain Willy. We received our Athletic Willy and the only assembly we had to was putting on our decals from the provided decal set.
We have to take a lot of stuff with us when we tailgate so one of the things we always look at when we review a product is whether or not is portable? Does it take up a lot of room not only in a vehicle but also where ever you store your tailgating supplies. The Willy when collapsed is about 9″ long but when extended reaches to 30″ which keeps you from having to bend over to pick up your washers. We have started to keep our Willy in our washer box so when we are getting ready to go to a tailgating event we do not have to worry or not if we have our Willy!
Finally would we use Willy Washers? We have made a home for our Willy in our tailgating supplies because it is easy to use and it works. The Willy can also be used for Ladder Golf with the optional magnetic hook that can be placed on the end of the Willy Washer. The hook makes it easy to grab and pick up Ladder Ball bolos. We also found more uses for the Willy at our last tailgating event when we dropped our truck keys between the seats. Even after moving the seats back and forth we still were not able to reach our keys. Then I remembered that I had the Willy and I was able to retrieve the keys with the magnetic end of the Willy.
